On November 1, 2010 a group of women formed the first committee on Domestic Violence in Delburne. The acronym we chose is:

 

S—STOP

A—ABUSE

F—FOR FAMILY

E—EMPOWERMENT

 

Our mission is to educate people of all ages about Domestic Violence and to inform them about the many services that are available. It is important that we recognize the many forms that domestic violence takes. It is also important that we know our responsibilities as citizens and report what we see.

 

We are affected by family violence whether we are personally experiencing it or have friends or family that are facing it. We need to recognize that family violence may include:

• Physical abuse

• Verbal abuse

• Financial abuse

• Sexual abuse

• Spiritual abuse

• Harassment

• Stalking

• Bullying
